The Bold & The Beautiful...Red Carpet Style

The look that had everyone talking about the red carpet this year
was "Modern Family's"Sofia Vergara.
She wows in this beautiful coral Vera Wang gown.
But it wasn't the gown that captivated everyone's attention,
it was her BOLD earrings
Ms. Vergara is quoted as saying
"The most exciting part of my outfit is my Colombian emeralds".

Celeb Style at the Emmys...Retro Glam Revived!

Old Hollywood glamour sauntered back onto the red carpet
in a BIG way at this year's Emmys.
What better way to make a statement about
intelligence, beauty and confidence!

The most stunning example of retro glam revived is Evan Rachel Wood.
She channelled old Hollywood with her blond pin-curls, porcelain skin and cap sleeve gown.
She walked the red carpet with confidence and class.
She chose small drop earrings, bold cuff bracelet and sleek clutch
as her accessories for the night.

Kudos to Ms. Wood for a stunning look!

Celeb Style at the Emmys...Seeing Red!

The 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards...

Cameras were flashing, reporters were gabbing and gowns were stunning!

Celebrity stylists were on point as several recurring trends emerged...

The most obvious...Ravishing Red is BACK!  No, not the typical we way all expect red to be worn.  No extreme accessories.  Simple & sophisticated is the key.

Nina Dobrev from "Vampire Diaries" looked elegant in a strapless Donna Karan gown accessorized with a choker
and simple stud earrings.
Achieve her stunning look with the
Material Girl choker from Gryphon Designs.

Kate Winslet also opted for simple and sleek accessories to accentuate her red, curve hugging Elie Saab dress. She was coiffed with a loose updo
and sparkled with diamond drop earrings and matching bracelet
Steal her look with these Gryphon Design baubles!

Be Bold!

Signature Filigree Cuff

I get lots of questions about statement pieces and are they still relevant?  My answer is a resounding YES!

Statement jewelry are just that...They should say something about you and the woman that you are becoming.  Statement pieces will change over time just as you evolve and your style changes.  For that reason, I recommend staying away from statment pieces that are extremely expensive as you may not be feeling it in a year or two down the road.

To avoid buyers remorse, select statement pieces that can be versitile while still being bold.

One Word: Color

This summer, the palette for fashion has been whites, creams and neutrals.  The key to carrying those neutrals into autumn is COLOR!

Turquoise adds a beautiful pop of color to an otherwise neutral outfit.  From beach casual to  formal attire, turquoise accessories are eye catching to say the least.  There are a multitude of colors that turquoise comes in so find your favorite and go with it!

Green provides a more subtle yet interesting addition to a monochromatic look.  Adorn yourself with some fabulous earrings and a cocktail ring for a show-stopping style.  Emeralds are not the only green stones used in accessories today.  For a unique look, try peridot, green glass or enameled pieces.

Gryphon Designs Smoky Quartz

Want a more subtle addition to your neutral wardrobe?  Smoky quartz is a fantastic option. Like turquoise, there are many shades to choose from so make sure you select one that works with your skin tone and eye color.  A deep chocolate smoky quartz can look almost black depending on the lighting and individual.

Remember, select a color you're comfortable wearing so the color doesn't wear YOU!

What's Your Trademark?

Definition:
A trademark, trade mark, or trade-mark is a distinctive sign or indicator used by an individual/business to distinguish its products or services from those of other entities.

We all tell our story every day...and we do it without uttering a single word.  People that feel assured and empowered rarely slouch or drag their feet when they walk.  A woman who exudes self-confidence can light up a room when she walks in the door.  She stands tall and holds her head high.   She owns her style and celebrates her individuality.

What about your style sets you apart and tells your story?

Happy Labor Day!

Traditionally, Labor Day is celebrated by most Americans as the symbolic end of the summer.

For traditional fashionistas, Labor Day is considered the last day of the year when it is appropriate for ladies to wear white.

In sports, Labor Day marks the beginning of the football season!

For Gryphon Designs, its a day that we show how grateful we are to work with people that make labor seem like fun and we "Love That!"  Enjoy your day!

Community Makeover

I strongly believe in giving back to the communities where we work and live.  Most recently, I've had the honor to participate with the non-profit organization Enchanted Makeovers and I wanted to share a little with you about the organization from the founder herself. The difference they make is truly amazing and we "Love That!"

"My name is Terry Grahl and I am the founder of Enchanted Makeovers, a 100% volunteer, not-for-profit organization based in Michigan whose mission is to transform shelters for women and children into places of peace and possibilities. This model is much more than a series of decorating projects; it is a movement to transform people rebuilding their lives as well as the lives of the volunteers and communities. We are blessed to be celebrating our 5 year anniversary in 2011 and very blessed by the national exposure and awards we have received including People Magazine, MLB, Martha Stewart, Woman's World, Ladies Home Journal and many more. We are excited about our next project which is with Alternative For Girls in Southwest Detroit a shelter for girls ages 15-21. You may have seen them on the NBC special about human trafficking in Detroit.

We have a number of wonderful projects and programs planned that will take place over the next 4-5 months for AFG. In addition to physically transforming the shelter into a whimsical cottage-like haven, there will be programs offered that teach the women and children life skills and coping skills."

Please visit our website to learn more about Enchanted Makeovers at http://www.enchantedmakeovers.org.
Thank you so much."
